I haven't done a post about my home town Byron bay for a while so here it is, we had breakkie at byron beach cafe today, the food is average esp. for a vego like me but the views more than make up for that lack, the deck to the cafe basically faces towards the main beach in Byron bay and it was a beautiful autumn morning. Dont you love the sculpture of the girl in bikini showering at the entrance, typical of Byron bay, yes its paradise but you get used to it !!

this is by one of my fav. local designers, greg natale, this is his signature hollywood glam style, nice wall art by J.Adler and clever usage of outdoor cement blocks on the inside.

love the injection of red in here, the usage of firewood as a design feature and steel curtains

eyes are said to be the windows to the soul and in design so is the door to the house.(sounds good anyway!)

Hollywood sign

I am so happy that they managed to save the hollywood sign from being pulled down. Now you may think that this post is a departure from interior design but this sign is design at it's best, it conveys so much hope, excitement, angst etc etc and it is so iconic and beautiful in it's simplicity. I was so excited to see it last year and this is a photo that i took of it, click on image for detail. LA would not have been the same without it, I kept looking up at it from almost everywhere in LA that i went.
